When + Where

Apr 19, 2024, 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Rec Room, 230 Bridge St, Phoenixville, PA 19460, USA

Hot on the heels of our first crowdfunding benefit for Kristen Maggio, 228 Productions and The Soundbank Presents team up once again for a lineup of truly epic proportions -- a headlining double set by the funkified Tacos For Breakfast, the long-awaited reunion of The National Bird, and fittingly (for once) the blues-rockin' shenanigans of guest emcees The Booze Brothers!  To recap: Local business owner, artist, and longtime pal KRS was hit with a one-two combo a few months back -- cardiac arrest and a brain tumor. With both procedures in the rearview, her friends in the scene have organized a series of benefits to offset her looming medical costs, with this being the second of shows upstairs at the Rec Room. In addition to the tunes, there will be a silent auction / raffle table of goods donated by local artisans and businesses, all proceeds of which benefit our pal!  (Acts listed in order of play)

Guest emcees THE BOOZE BROTHERS stormed the scene during Halloween karaoke in 2022 at the ol' Soundbank and haven't looked back, gracing stages from the bowels of The Basement at PJ's to the lofty heights of the Ambler Theater. Hey bartender! Let's get down to the onstage antics of "Graterford Jake" and El. Whaddya want for nothin'?   The power of KRS compelled Phoenixville rockers THE NATIONAL BIRD to return to live gigs after (at least!) a decade-long hiatus! (We at 228 are especially thrilled, as TNB shared our bills alongside other late, great acts like Molly Rhythm, Qwirk, and McReadyRocK.) Think '60s-style garage AM radio hits with an original twist -- featuring the musical talents of Blanko Dave, Cochise, Shawn & some Strange guy on drums.   TACOS FOR BREAKFAST burst onto the music scene from the vibrant heart of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, infusing the local scene with their unique blend of funk, neo-soul, blues, Jazz-inspired sounds. With soulful vocals that tug at your heartstrings, funky basslines that make you move, and blistering guitar & key solos that transport you to another dimension, this band brings an unrivaled energy to the stage.  Doors at 7pm; show runs 8-11 pm; tickets are $15. Additional donations may be made to Kristen's crowdfunding page, Thanks for supportin' our pal KRS and the scene, and stay tooned to The Soundbank Presents for more collab shows with 228 Productions!
